Dr. Vani P has completed her MBBS from Jubilee Mission Medical College in Thrissur, Kerala, and subsequently completed her postgraduate training in psychiatry from NIMHANS Bangalore in 2018. She has been practising privately since 2021 in multiple clinics in and around Bangalore. She also completed a postgraduate diploma in medical law and ethics (PGDMLE) in 2021. Her areas of interest include sexual disorders and consultant liaison in psychiatry. Dr. Vani believes in integrating pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy for mental health issues.

Titled-“Duration of pupillary non-reaction as a predictor of acute response to electroconvulsive therapy in schizophrenia.”

Description-The study aimed at looking at the relationship between time for return of pupillary response as a marker for autonomic response and prediction of positive outcome in schizophrenia. The study also looked at a possible positive correlation between the other ECT parameters and pupillary response time.

  • Psychiatric and neuropsychiatric manifestations in patients with End Stage Renal disease and on Dialysis.
  • Substance dependence in general hospital setup and management of such cases in general hospital settings.
  • Understanding the prevailing stigma among other medical professionals and specialists.
  • Multiple sclerosis and its neuropsychiatric correlates.
